One, we are short on funds. And two, we both wanted to re-read the previous books since most of the details are a little murky now.

But apparently, I can still be quite emotionally immature. Because right after this entry, I am off to pick up my very own copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows in Fully Booked Gateway (and I made sure to call to confirm if they still have lots of copies left).

So I will be in hibernation for a few days to steer clear of spoilers. Better safe than sorry (and spoiled) :)

It's just you and me now, book. You should strongly consider majoring (or minoring) in a foreign language, especially French or Spanish as they have a greater use in today's world. But other languages could be useful to you as well, such as Chinese, Japanese, German, Italian, or many others. With a major in a foreign language you could teach, or work for a company as a translator or foreign correspondant.

It is possible that the best major for you is your 2nd, 3rd, or even 5th listed category, so be sure to consider ALL majors in your OTHER high scoring categories (below). You may score high in a category you didnt think you would--it is possible that a great major for you is something you once dismissed as not for you. The right major for you will be something 1) you love and enjoy and 2) are really great at it.

Consider adding a minor or double majoring to make yourself standout and to combine your interests. Cluttered desktops are just too painful for me.

Anyway, I don't know what's up with Yahoo today but I've been receiving some pretty strange messages from random people.

Exhibit A.

Exhibit B.

Okay but I must confess, when the first guy said he was a doctor from India, I *almost* considered talking to him if only to pretend I'm talking to Mohinder Suresh.

Yes, I'm such a loser. No need to tell me. Mwahahaha.

My cat hates me. And I bet she hates you too.

My sister is having a party at our house with some friends. One of her guests is allergic to pets so we had to hide my dog Fiona and my cat, Cordelia.

For those who don't know, we named our cat after Buffy character Cordelia Chase because my cat is a bitch and isn't ashamed of it. She decided to remind me just how bitchy she can get a few minutes ago.

So I'm in the room with her, (I'm busy playing World of Warcraft, of course) and I hear this noise. The crazy cat managed to pull a newspaper page over her litter box, topple her food & water bin and spill water all over the floor. I walk over to inspect and she just sits there glaring at me. That's her way of telling me to change her water because it's not cold anymore. And that she hates me for not giving her some of my spaghetti dinner.

So we finally let her out. And I told my dad about it. An hour later, he enters the room with Cor and puts her on the desk. Dad goes "Oh, apologize for what you did." And then, Cordelia lets out this long evil hiss.

That's Cordy the Queen. I love it.

What's on TV?

We have two house help, Yaya Belen and Yaya Bernadine, who we "fondly" call Bernard. They've been with us for almost 10 years (I think) and for the longest time, we used to call one Yaya Evelyn, only to realize that her name is really Belen.

Anyway, the boyfriend works as a TV writer. As part of my girlfriend duties, I not only watch the shows where he is involved, but I also promote & encourage people in our compound to watch it. I've tried to force them to watch Krystala (they didn't like it but my Lola loved it like crazy) and Kampanerang Kuba. So this happened last night:

Me: Ya, nanunood ba kayo ng Rounin?
Ya Belen: Hindi.
Me: Bakit? Ayaw ninyo yung kwento?
Ya Belen: Hindi naman.
Me: Ayaw ninyo yung mga artista?
Ya Belen: Hindi naman.
Me: Eh bakit hindi kayo nanunood ng Rounin?
Ya Belen: Eh kasi, HBO ang pinapanood namin eh.

Ay, sosyal. I love it.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Dear My LiveJournal,

I'm so sorry for neglecting you but I need to level up in World of Warcraft.

Love, me

Apr 3, 2007 Sleeping with sisters

Not in the incest kind of way, you perv. Most definitely not.

Every summer, in an effort to save on electricity bills, my dad gently reminds us to try and sleep in one room so that we only have one aircon unit running throughout the evening.

We all planned to sleep in my parents room. However last night, the mattress that Kai sleeps on finally had its LONG OVERDUE washing. So last night, my sister and I slept in the same room, sharing the same bed.

For the past couple of months, my sister has been sleeping in my parent's room. So lately, I feel like it's MY room, and mine alone. So, it was weird having her sleep in the room again, even more having her sleep in the very same bed.

It could be the nice evening we had making fun of my Dad's fake British accent and strong Visayan accent. It could also be the icky fake Mango juice that my mom tricked us to drink. Could also be the fact that she bumped my name off the high score list of Otis (by playing on Easy mode, just so you know. I beat her score by 1000 points anyway, ON THE FIRST TRY. Haha) Or maybe it was giddy-ness. Whatever it was, it made my sister Kai unbelievably hyper. And she just wouldn't stop talking. 0__o

I found myself saying so many times "Kai, please. Go to sleep. I have to wake up at 5:30am tomorrow." Haha. It didn't help that the lights were on because Kai *cough* was scared *cough* to sleep with the lights out. She finally let me turn them off, but insisted we hold hands while she tries to sleep. Ang labooooo!!!

Oh, and I had to promise that I'll create a playlist in my iPod especially for Dong Bang worship. So, now you guys know what I'll be doing tonight.

Ah, sisterhood. You have your days when you want to kill each other (like when someone insists on using the PC and the TV at the same time) and then days when you actually get along. In between, there are days when you help each other (like the time when the brush got stuck in my hair and she patiently cut the bristles one by frickin' one to untangle my hair, even if she had somewhere to be) and days when you make fun of each other. What I love the most though are days when we join forces against someone, say my mom. Like that time we had a mad giggle fit in SM and just couldn't stop guffawing. Mom gave Kai the evil eye and turns around. Kai motions and pretends to poke mom's eyes out, only for mom to turn around and catch Kai do the poking motion with her hands. Hahahahaha.

Good times.

I know, I know. Almost every blog/ column/ whatever else has an article dedicated to Frank Miller's "300". And yes, I know that I did my share a few days ago when I posted the comic strip from Ctrl Alt Del. (which is a cool website for gaming fans, by the way)

But I saw this You Tube clip and just couldn't resist sharing. I love how it captures my love affair with the men of 300. --> Oh, wait. That doesn't sound right. But you know what I mean. (I hope) Haha.

And since we're already showing scantily clad men, check out this fan video of World of Warcraft residents prancing around to Hagibis' "Katawan".

I've been wanting to play World of Warcraft for the longest time now and I haven't for 2 reasons: 1) I don't have time and 2) I can't afford it.

So for now, I will just settle for Warcraft III: Defense of the Ancients.
It's Saturday. I'm supposed to be sleeping in, wake up at around 2pm. Instead, I found myself in the office at 8am driving my dad's pick up and hauling stuff from the old to the new office. It wasn't so bad since I was done by 12nn. Plus, it's always nice to have something new to look forward to, in this case the new office.

Summer is really here and as if to make sure I don't forget, he gave me a massive headache to remember him by. So I decide to take a nap. Well actually, I feel asleep while surfing the net.

I wake up around 5pm and get ready to go to this event where a part of the proceeds will be donated to my organization. It's a college party, and truth be told I was bummed to go. It's a college party (with a fashion show) and maaaaaaan, thank God for the dimmed house lights that concealed my rolling eyes. Major workout ang eyeballs ko tonight. Haha.

On the upside, I came prepared. I brought the SO along so we can get bored together. He loaned me his PSP (Burnout: Legends is my lifesaver!) and he brought his iBook -which I'm using now to make this post. Yes, may (free) wifi dito sa Roxas Blvd. And in true geek form, I prefer to update my LJ and beat my Burnout highscore instead of smooch with the college kids and get free booze from the bar. If that isn't geeky enough, I'm raring to ditch this place so we can head over to Katipunan and play DoTA. (That's the network game, Warcraft III/ Defense of the Ancients for the uninitiated.)

Howell.
